TAMPA HOT TUB REMOVAL.

The hot tub you stopped using in 2019. The spa your last roommate left behind. The one that's been "leaking a little" for three years. We drain it, disconnect it, break it down, and haul the pieces. Your patio comes back.

Hot tubs are a specialty โ€” and we run them weekly

Hot tubs are awkward enough that most junk haulers won't touch them. Too heavy to move whole, too bulky to fit in a regular truck, full of water that has to go somewhere. We run several Tampa hot tub removals every week, and we have a specific workflow: drain the water (legally, into a sewer cleanout or appropriate drain), disconnect the electrical, remove the shell and surround in sections using a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade, and load the pieces.

Average job takes 90 minutes to 3 hours depending on the size, location, and how much it's deteriorated. Outdoor tubs in a side yard are easiest. Tubs on a second-floor deck or in a screen enclosure take longer because we have to plan a path out. Tubs with the surround built into a custom deck take longest because we have to carefully separate the tub from the deck without damaging the structure.

About 60% of every Tampa hot tub we remove gets recycled โ€” the metal frame goes to scrap, the acrylic shell gets broken down, the foam insulation gets recycled where we can find a processor that takes it. The remaining 40% (typically the foam and the harder-to-recycle plastics) goes to the landfill. We tell you exactly what gets recycled vs. landfilled on request.

Hot tub scenarios we handle

  • Standard outdoor tubs: Free-standing on a patio, deck, or pad. Most common scenario. 90 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Tubs in screen enclosures: We work around the enclosure structure, no damage. Sometimes we have to take a panel out and reinstall it.
  • Deck-built-in tubs: Carefully separated from the deck structure. We bring the right tools.
  • Tubs with concrete surrounds: Custom-quoted. We may need to bring concrete-cutting equipment.
  • Tubs that won't drain: If the pump is dead, we use a transfer pump to remove the water.
  • Filled-with-cement tubs: Rare, but it happens. Custom quote required.

Hot tub removal pricing

Standard outdoor tub (4โ€“6 person): $325โ€“$425 โ€” most common scenario.

Larger 7โ€“8 person tub or swim spa: $475โ€“$650.

Tub built into deck or surround: $525โ€“$750 depending on construction.

Tub with concrete surround or filled-with-concrete tub: Custom quote, typically $800+.

Pricing includes draining, electrical disconnect, breakdown, hauling, and any recycling/disposal fees. The only thing that ever changes the quote is significant deterioration we can't see in the photos.

Why Tampa picks us for hot tub removal

  • Specialty experience: Multiple hot tub removals every week. We know the tools and the workflow.
  • We handle the drain: Drained legally to a sewer cleanout or appropriate drain. Not dumped on your neighbor's yard.
  • Clean breakdown: Reciprocating saws with appropriate blades. No splintering, no damage to your patio or deck.
  • Electrical disconnect: We do the disconnect at the spa. For the breaker side, you should call an electrician โ€” we'll coordinate.
  • Recycling-first: Metal goes to scrap, acrylic and certain plastics recycled where processors exist locally.

FAQ

Hot Tub Removal questions

90 minutes to 3 hours for a standard outdoor tub. Closer to 4โ€“5 hours for tubs built into decks or with concrete surrounds. We'll give you a specific window when we quote.

Not necessarily, but it helps if you can. If the tub's pump still works and you can leave a hose running into a sewer cleanout for a few hours before our arrival, the job goes faster and the quote stays at the low end. If the pump's dead or you don't want to deal with it, we bring a transfer pump โ€” no extra charge.

We disconnect at the spa side. For the breaker / panel side, you should call a licensed electrician to do the final disconnect. We can coordinate timing if you want us there when the electrician shows up.

Yes, that's like half our hot tub jobs. Leaking tubs are easier to drain โ€” we just open the drain valve and let it go. Disposal stays the same.

Doable. We plan a path down (sometimes through a stairwell, sometimes via a lift if the geometry is brutal) and carry the pieces down section by section. May add 30โ€“60 minutes to the job. Send us photos of the deck and the path so we can quote accurately.

Yes โ€” we can demo and haul a gazebo, pergola, or hot tub surround in the same trip. Add it to the photos and we'll quote it together.
